SHAGIES

Dynamic, versatile and entertaining. These words sum up Shagies, a six-piece cover band that has been on the go since 1987. A crowd favourite, Shagies serves up a mix of dance, Latin, pop and rock tunes from the retro to contemporary eras. Think popular hits from the ’80s: “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Dancing Queen,” “Under Pressure,” “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us”; that get the audience grooving. A runner-up at the 1986 Yamaha band competition, Shagies began playing gigs at nightspots like Europa and NCO Club. The band had shared the stage with international artists like Bon Jovi, Rick Price, Jimmy Barnes and Andy Lau. Shagies’s TV appearances included shows like Asian Television Awards (2000), Anita Sarawak’s Speak of the Diva (2001) and the award-winning SURIA channel drama Selagi Ada Kasih. Three decades and counting, Shagies is still at the top of their game.

A prolific local band that has been active in the live music circuit since 1991, Jive Talkin’ has performed with international A-listers including the legendary B.B. King, Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, James Ingram, Kenny G, and Def Leppard. Jive Talkin’ has a large and devoted fan base due to their versatility and wide-ranging repertoire that includes genres ranging from classic rock ‘n’ roll and pop-rock to soul, reggae, and R&B.

DJ RICO (RESIDENT DJ)
With 25 years of disc-jockeying experience, DJ Rico consistently delivers the best 80s and 90s retro and classic Disco tunes to get the crowd on their feet. His mixed CD compilations – Dancebox (2002), Rico’s Reload vs Masterplate (2003) and Trance Euphoria (2004) were featured in Singapore’s Dance CD Top 10 Charts.

One of the most sought-after DJs in the regional music circuit, DJ Boy is known as the master mixer behind radio stations Class 95 Dance Party and Perfect 10 Club Beats. Also known as Josh, DJ Boy kicked off his disc jockey career three decades ago at the tender age of 13, cutting his teeth at private parties and dinner dances.
Today, DJ Boy is synonymous with major dance music events in Singapore. He has headlined key events like DYSKO at Cé La Vi (2018), Total Recall at Capital Zouk (2018), and Gold 90.5FM Solid Gold Parties (2014, 2016, and 2017). Whether it is grooving or tearing up the dance floor, DJ Boy has been there, done that, and is guaranteed to bring the house down.
DJ KENNETH MARK (RESIDENT DJ)
With 30 years of experience under his belt, DJ Kenneth’s impressive CV includes holding residencies at renowned clubs like Marmota, The Trap, Tavern on the Square, Shangri-la Complex in Ho Chi Minh City, Fire Discotheque and Sparks Disco, the largest discotheques in Southeast Asia. An all-rounder, he has emceed at fashion shows and Miss Universe Pageant Singapore. The consummate entertainer, DJ Kenneth shines at bringing the crowd to their feet.
